On September 4th our Social Responsibility and Environmental Committee (SR&E Committee) held their first lecture on gender violence at the therapeutic community “Villa Arias”, a government center for the treatment of addictions. We invited the psychologist Silvana Alarcón and the social worker Verónica Llanos to moderate the conference.
A group of residents that are currently in rehabilitation at the center were given the opportunity to actively participate and talk about their own experiences and opinions. The moderators created a space for debate and expression on various agenda and community topics of interest.
The event was a big success and was positively received by the center and the participants. So much so, that they have expressed interest in participating in our committee’s next event.
Our SR&E Committee members that were involved in the event also found it very rewarding and empowering. The knowledge gained will help us develop further events.
