The Central Bank of West African States (BCEAO) organized a “Regional Strategy for Financial Inclusion (SRIF)” capacity-building workshop for the eight WAEMU member country National Committees, which were created to monitor the implementation of the SRIF in the West African Economic and Monetary Union (WAEMU). The workshop was held at their headquarters in Dakar (Senegal) from 22 to 24 October 2018.
The objective of the workshop was, foremost, to equip these representatives of the National Authorities for an effective implementation of their national strategy of financial inclusion, and to share the experience of the pioneering peers on the subject.
The workshop brought together some fifty participants from national bodies and private sector organizations. It was moderated by the staff of BCEAO as well as international experts and representatives of the central banks, pioneers in the field of financial inclusion.
