Global report on financial inclusion, released

The 2018 edition of The Economist’s Global Microscope, a benchmarking index that assesses the enabling environment for financial inclusion in 55 countries, has been released.

Among the major findings highlighted in this edition include findings that Colombia, Peru and Uruguay have the most conducive environments for financial inclusion, whereas gaps in connectivity infrastructure and digital identification systems represent a barrier for the expansion of digital financial services in sub-Saharan Africa, Middle East and North Africa.
