The Central Bank of West African States (BCEAO) organized, from November 26 to December 1, 2018, the 2018 edition (1st edition) of the Week of Financial Inclusion in WAEMU on the theme “Financial inclusion: lever of economic and social development”.
More than 250 people took part in the event from finance ministries, banks, decentralized financial systems (DFS), electronic money institutions (EMEs), telecommunications regulators, amongst other international organizations, as well as the BCEAO.
The main objective of the Financial Inclusion Week in WAEMU was to bring together financial sector players, and to raise the awareness of stakeholders on the importance of financial inclusion in the economic and social development of the WAEMU countries.
